Flo10 caught up with SDS to reflect on the benefits of introducing the Flo10 platform.

Prior to implementing Flo10, the Information Management System (IMS) consisted of a Quality Management System (QMS) manual and process flow charts. Whilst all staff received training, there was nothing to inextricably combine the day-to-day project operations with the required compliance tasks, relevant procedures, and helpful guidance.

Initial feedback from the team has been positive. In addition to core project management, Flo10 also supports SDS with other important processes, such as dealing with frameworks, sub consultants, and collaboration between disciplines and offices.

Communication improvements

In addition to reinforcing the QMS, Flo10 delivers communication efficiency.

Flo10 automatically alerts the project leaders with key tasks that require their attention including any approvals. This is increasing engagement and is more efficient than relying on email. “Flo10 smooths the communication flow and provides a seamless link between our teams” says Rob Shepherd.

Helpful guidance

SDS have a library of valuable best practice guidelines and templates. However previously the Project Manager could be unaware of what is available or required. With Flo10 useful guidance is easy to access against each associated task. For example, if a Project Manager needs a fire engineering consultant, they can instantly access the latest standard brief and any supporting information. “This removes any potential uncertainty and helps disseminate knowledge across SDS” explains Rob Shepherd.
